IELTS Eligibility Criteria

 

IELTS Eligibility Criteria :  There are no minimum IELTS eligibility criteria for taking IELTS test. Any person who wishes to pursue education or work opportunities in an English speaking countries can apply for the IELTS test. According to the test pattern of IELTS, the test is conducted in two versions - IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training. However, a candidate is required to check the other required eligibility criteria for the organisation or institution he/she wishes to be associated with. The aspirant should also be informed about the selection procedure of their respective institutes at the time of registration. 

 

IELTS Academic scores are accepted by universities or institutions of higher and further education in English-speaking countries. Admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses is based on the results of the academic test. IELTS Academic may also be a requirement to join a professional organisation in an English-speaking country. As such, it is imporant that candidates fullfil the eligibility criteria of IELTS in such cases. For example, many top universities require IELTS scores of over 7 band as IELTS eligibility criteria.

The IELTS General Training format measures a candidate’s general survival skills in broad social and workplace contexts. Typically people going to English-speaking countries to get secondary education, work experience or engage in training programmes register for IELTS and have to fulfil the organisations' eligibility criteria. People migrating to Australia, Canada and New Zealand must sit for the General Training test.

 

The IELTS Test scores are accepted by institutions and organisation only after a candidate fulfills the other Eligibility criteria set by them.

 

IELTS is conducted to assess a candidate’s proficiency in English language. Aspirants who wish to pursue opportunities in english speaking countries can sit for the test.
