IELTS Test Result 2016: The Result of IELTS 2016 are made available after 13 calendar days from the IELTS test date 2016 when test is taken. There is no pass or fail in IELTS, scores are graded on the 9-band system. Each educational institution or organisation sets its own level of IELTS Test 2016 result to meet its individual requirements. The IELTS nine-point scoring system measure and report test scores for each language skill or sub-tests. The sub tests covered in the IELTS Syllabus are: listening, reading, writing and speaking and an overall band score (OBS).

 

Here are the steps to get IELTS result 2016:

 

1. IELTS test results are available 13 days after your test. 

2. Test centres will post your IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) or you can go and pick up the result from the test centre depending on the arrangement with the test centre. 

3. You will only receive one copy of your IELTS result 2016 Form

4. You can also check your IELTS test result 2016 online after 13 days on the link shared by the test centre. However, that result will be online for only 28 days.  Also, online results are not an official confirmation of your IELTS result 2016.

5. You can check your IELTS test result 2016 by showing your Passport or ID number, same ID that you used during IELTS registration 2016.

6. Your IELTS result 2016 will be sent automatically to the list of 5 institutes or organisations that you had selected at the time of registration.

 

Each candidate receives one copy of your Test Report Form. Up to five (5) copies of TRF is posted to the relevant institution(s) that a candidate lists in their IELTS application form for sending the result of IELTS 2016. Candidates can request for additional TRFs beyond these five from the Test Centre which issued the TRF.  In case, a candidate wants to get a re-evaluation of the IELTS test result 2016, he must apply for an Enquiry at test centre within six weeks of the test date. There is an enquiry fee, which is fully refunded if your IELST band scores change.

 

The IELTS Test Pattern 2016 is designed to reflect the use of english in everyday life. The IELTS test result 2016 are reported in whole or half bands. Each of the sub-test scores is equally weighted and the OBS is calculated by taking the mean of total of the four individual sub-test scores.

 

Overall Band Score: The IELTS Test Result 2016 is calculated by taking the mean of the total of the four individual sub-test scores. Overall IELTS Band Scores 2016 are reported to the nearest whole or half band. For the avoidance of doubt, the following rounding convention applies; if the average across the four skills ends in .25, it is rounded up to the next half band, and if it ends in .75, it is rounded up to the next whole band. Thus, a candidate achieving 6.5 for Listening, 6.5 for Reading, 5.0 for Writing and 7.0 for Speaking would be awarded an Overall Band Score of 6.5 (25 ÷ 4 = 6.25 = Band 6.5) in the IELTS Test Result.

Likewise, in the IELTS Test Result 2016 a candidate achieving 4.0 for Listening, 3.5 for Reading, 4.0 for Writing and 4.0 for Speaking would be awarded an Overall Band Score of 4.0 (15.5 ÷ 4 = 3.875 = Band 4.0). On the other hand, a candidate achieving 6.5 for Listening, 6.5 for Reading, 5.5 for Writing and 6.0 for Speaking would be awarded band 6 (24.5 ÷ 4 = 6.125 = Band 6) in the IELTS 2016 Test Result.

Re-taking IELTS: According to IELTS conducting body, there is no limit placed on when you can reappear for the test. So, if you are not satisfied with your IELTS test result 2016 you can appear for the IELTS test 2016 again.

Howeevr, the selection procedure of IELTS depends on the organisation the candidate applies to.
