What is eduroof role in this?

There are 3 parties involved in the launch of this Program, 1. Ministry of HRD, Government of India, 2. Tata Institute of Social Sciences School of Vocational Education, 3. Eduroof HUB Training Partner. HUB is responsible for generating the internship Opportunities for the students, so that the students can get the Practical Experience. 

Are these Programs approved by UGC? 

These programs are certified by Tata Institute of Social Sciences School of Vocational Education, TISS is a Government Deemed University. And all the PG Diploma programs carry 74 or equivalent credits as per global standards. For more details visit https://tiss.edu

Is it a part time, regular or distance learning Program? 

These are neither part time nor full time programs, these programs are launched under a new pattern called work integrated program, wherein it is mandatory for the students to acquire practical experience in the same field in which they are trying to get the PG Diploma qualification. Thus these programs carry full time status. 

Is Tata Institute of Social Sciences a private institute or a Government University?

TISS was established in 1936, as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work, the first school of social work in India. It was renamed to its current name in 1944. It was recognised as a Deemed University in 1964 by the University Grants Commission of India. TISS started out as a small institute offering a post-graduate diploma in Social Work, but has since expanded continuously in terms of educational programmes and infrastructure (see list of programs). The first director of the institute was Clifford Manshardt, who aimed to establish a post-graduate social work school of national stature that would engage in a continuous study of Indian social issues and create meaningful interventions.

Over the years, the Institute has, among other thrusts, made a significant contribution to policy, planning, action strategies and human resource development. It has done so in several areas, ranging from sustainable rural and urban development to education, health, communal harmony, human rights and industrial relations. TISS has earned recognition as an institution of repute from different Ministries of the Government of India and various State Governments, as well as international agencies such as the United Nations, and the non-government sector, both national and international

The institute has a governing board nominated by the Government of India, Government of Maharashta, the University of Mumbai and the University Grants Commission along with representatives from the institute faculty. S. Ramadorai, vice chairman, TCS and Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, is the current honorary chairperson of TISS. The chairperson of the governing board has functions similar to that of the chancellor of a conventional university. The academic council decides matters of academic nature and comprises faculty drawn from the institute's 4 campuses and as well as 6 external experts.


Who will issue the certificate?

The Certificate is issued by Tata Institute of Social Sciences SVE only. 

What is the exam Pattern?

The PG programs are divided into 2 semesters each. The question papers have a pattern of 20% Objective and 80% Subjective. Written offline exams are conducted at the hub.The paper will be of 100 marks  and passing marks will be 40 Marks. The students are required to submit the Project in each semester with OJT book (On Job Training Book).

How are Faculties appointed?

The Faculties are all appointed after the approval from center of excellence team of Tata Institute of Social Sciences School of Vocational Education. All Faculties come with a rich industry experience of more than 10 years.

What are the lecture timings?

Your lecture will be conducted on every Sunday and sometimes on Saturdays. The lectures are conducted for 3-4 hours. 

What is SKP?

The SKP is Skill Knowledge provider or the company where you are working, from where the student acquires practical experience. 

What is the fee and other charges? 

Currently the fee structure is divided in 2 parts. i.e; Academic Fee and Certification Fee. Academic fee is inclusive of tution fee, study material and exams fees. The certification fee is charged for certification issued by Tata Institute of Social Sciences School of Vocational Education. 

Currently the fee is INR 101000 , wherein INR 96000 is the academic fee and INR 5000  for certification fee.
