The computer-based GRE General Test is available all year-round. Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. In India, only the computer-based format is available. According to ETS, candidates can take the online GRE revised General Test once every 21 days, up to five times within any continuous rolling 12-month period.

In India, GRE test is held across 29 GRE test centres 2016. The common available computer based GRE test centres 2016 are Ahmadabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Chennai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi and Trivandrum among others. All GRE test centres in India are not available on all dates as the seats may be filled up.

GRE is a standardised test that is accepted for admission to various disciplines at many graduate and business schools across the globe.
